You will board the train for the majestic sanctuary and World Wonder of Machu Picchu at 6:10 am. During the 1.5-hour train ride, take time to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding valleys and Andes mountains.  The train will arrive in Aguas Calientes, which is a small town located at the base of Machu Picchu. Then we will travel by bus to arrive at our destination – Machu Picchu. As a group, we will go through the entrance (MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT, YOU WILL NEED IT TO ENTER) and begin our journey. Our guide will start with a tour of the Temple of the Sun, then the Intihuatana, the sacred rock group, Temple of the Three Windows, the mausoleum, and other places of interest. Following the tour, you will have free time to take photos and walk around the site on your own. You will then take a bus back down to Aguas Calientes. Here, you can visit places that are selling handicrafts and check out the Plaza de Armas, the main square. If you are looking for an extra challenge once you arrive at Machu Picchu, you have a few options.

SUN GATE. It is a short hike up from the ruins and is always available and free. This is a wonderful place to visit with amazing views of Machu Picchu.
HUAYNAPICCHU MOUNTAIN.  The most famous additional climb to do while there and provides spectacular views of the ruins and surrounding area. This must be booked in advance and costs an additional $25/person. The climb takes 45 minutes and is moderately difficult.

MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN. Another great option to climb up and see the ruins from down below. 1.5 hours steep climb and can be very physically demanding. Additional $25 per person and usually does not sell out. This is probably the most spectacular of all views, but all three options are very nice and will allow you to take excellent good photos.
